Article I- NAME

The name of this club shall be “DEERTRACK BOWHUNTERS, INC.”, indicated in abbreviation as DBH.


1. To promote and foster the practice of archery.

2. To maintain a roving range for the use of its members, which shall conform to the National Field Archery Association (NFAA). standards and comply with all safety regulations as specified by the Upper Peninsula Field Archery Association (UPFAA).

3. To conduct an educational program to acquaint the public with the bow and its uses as a practical and humane weapon, suitable under proper regulations, for the hunting of all legal game and fish on the American Continent.

4. To cooperate with the UPFAA and other associations in fostering and perpetuating the use of the bow in accordance with its ancient and honorable traditions.


1. The annual membership period will be from June1 to May 31, and fiscal year will be from January 1 to December 31.

2. The DBH Executive Board will review and set dues annually.

3. DBH Life memberships will be restricted to one per year providing that the recipient is a member in good standing during the year in which they are elected. The election will be by a two thirds (2/3) majority vote of the membership present at the DBH Annual Meeting.

4. Any member who has been honored with a life membership by the UPFAA or NFAA shall also be accorded a life membership in DBH.

5. The DBH Executive Board will review and approve the application of all prospective members and may suspend or expel any current member(s) for conduct detrimental to the interests of the club.


COMPOSITION OF OFFICERS: The officers of DBH shall consist of an Executive Board of Directors (Officers).

The Executive Board of Directors will consist of:

2. Vice President
3. Range Captain
4. Secretary
5. Treasurer
6. Director/Committee Chair
7. Director/Committee Chair
8. Director/Committee Chair
9. Director/Committee Chair
DUTIES: The DBH Executive Board is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of club goals, budget, committee assignments, setting of meeting dates, membership review and disciplinary action, general administration, and a yearly audit of finances.


1. The DBH shall hold an annual election of Officers at the annual meeting, all current members are eligible for election. To maintain elected office the officer shall also be current paid member for the entire term of office served.

2. Notice of the DBH Annual Meeting or any general membership meeting shall be given either by mail or electronically to each member in good standing at least one week prior to the date of the meeting.

3. The general DBH membership will be informed of the proposed slate of officers at least one week prior to the annual meeting.

4. Officers will be elected by a two thirds (2/3) majority of the members present at the annual meeting and will take office immediately following the election. The officer will hold this position until the next election, or until succeeded.

5. In the event of a vacancy, the DBH Executive Board will appoint a member to fill the officer position until the next election.

6. Any Executive Board Member may be removed for cause from their position by unanimous vote of the remaining Executive Board Members and the membership will be notified of such action.

7. The Executive Board will meet on a scheduled basis set by the President of DBH.

8. The immediate past President of DBH will be the 10th member (non-voting) of the DBH Board of Directors and shall serve a one year term.


1. This Constitution and related by-laws shall be governed by the provisions of the Michigan Corporations Act.

2. This Constitution may be altered or amended by a two thirds (2/3) majority vote of the membership present at a monthly meeting held sixty (60) days after the Executive Board has recommended a proposed change and has posted it for a period of thirty (30) days on the range bulleting board as well as the Deertrack Bowhunters website for membership review.

3. All changes shall become effective immediately after approval by the membership.


1. In addition to the annual meeting, the President and/or the DBH Executive Board will schedule general membership meetings as deemed necessary to conduct orderly business.

2. A quorum for all meetings shall consist of at least five (5) members present at any meeting called by the DBH President or Executive Board of Directors.

3. All meetings of DBH will follow Roberts Rules of Order and consist of an agenda as follows: · Minutes of the previous meeting · Additions or deletions to the agenda · Treasurers Report · Range Captains Report · Committee Reports · Old Business · New Business · Comments for the good of the order · Adjournment
