Randall Wellings made a motion to
dispense with the reading of the March 4, 2009 Board Meeting minutes, second by
Louie Krolikowski. Motion carried unanimously.
TREASURES REPORT:
See attached. There is a current
balance of $4,910.09 in the bank, plus a balance of $803.00 in the pay pal
account. Ken Davenport made a motion to approve the report, second by Mike
Koskey. Motion carried unanimously.
John Driver reported that we had 122
members for 2008.
PRESIDENTS REPORT:
Mark Hirvonen reviewed the club
activities over the past year and plans for the future.
- Grant money at the YMCA has made
the archery experience available to local youth.
- Club activities have been promoted
and supported at Straightline Archery.
- The NMU Wildcat Archery club has
been developed as a Deertrack affiliate and is growing.
- We had a table at the Recreation
Show and were visable.
- Superiorland Traditional Bowhunters
had their Rendezvous at the range.
- The first UPFAA indoor tournament
was hosted at Straightline Archery.
- New 3D targets were purchased and
the range looks great.
- 3 UPFAA shoots are scheduled for
this summer.
- Travis DePrey is doing a great job
with the Web Site.
- The new Cross Bow law presents
potential issues for the club. Policies will have to be made by the new board.
Mark asked for nominations from the
floor for Life Members. None were heard.
NEW BUSINESS:
There has not been a dues increase
since the early 1980s. The board suggested that, as of June 1, 2009, we
increase the dues to:
$30 Individual
$50 Family
$15 Student
John Driver supported the board’s
motion, second by Mike Koskey. Motion carried unanimously.

Randall Wellings reported that he
would like to see an informal ‘Club Day’ start at the range.
MEMEBERSHIP COMMENTS:
The Cross Bow issue was brought up
again. There was concern over speed of the arrows and safety of the members.
Also, there was concern that the targets would be destroyed.
They are not presently allowed at the
range. It was suggest that the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club might be a better
venue for this type of bow.
More discussion at the Board level is
needed on this issue.
