EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

PETER WHITE LIBRARY

January 7, 2009

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Hirvonen, Sue Payant, John Driver, Mike Koskey, Jay Roy, Tim Glover, Louie Krolikowski, and Steve Sanderson.

ABSENT: Travis DePrey and Randall Wellings

CLUB MEMBERS PRESENT: Tom Tanner, Derek Belden and Shelley Saxwold

MINUTES: Mike made a motion to dispense with the reading of the July 8, 2008 Board Meeting minutes, second by Jay.  Motion carried unanimously.

TREASURERS REPORT: See attached.  Mike motioned to approve the report, second by Tim.  Motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS: 

- President’s Report:

            - IBEP – Bowhunter Ed situation is in flux.  We will put further training on hold until they become more stable.

            - YMCA – A successful youth archery program was held at Straightline.  Nine kids participated for 6 weeks.  Another program is scheduled for March.

            - FAIR/REC SHOW – Did not materialize.

            - TRADITIONAL RENDESVOUS – Successful summer event

- Range Captain’s Report:

            - 2008 Progress/Issues – Road is improved.  Range still looks good.  One bridge still needs to be built

            - 2009 Scheduled work session – May 2, 2009

- Communications Chairman Report:

            - No Report

- UPFAA Chairman Report:

            - Jan. 10^th Meeting. – See attached Resolutions to be voted on.  Shelley, Mike and Derek will attend this meeting and will vote on the resolutions for the good of the club.

            - Tournament Schedules – Shelley will try to secure a couple of tournament dates while at the Jan. 10^th meeting.

- Wildcat Archers Report:

            - They currently are at about 30 members.

            - They shoot once a week at Straightline and participate in 3 different leagues at Straightline.

            - They will be making membership in Deertrack Bowhunters mandatory. 

            - Recruiting plans are in the works to put up posters and get the word out at NMU.

- 3D Chairman Report:

            - Eight 3D Targets were purchased for $3331.28.  We should be in good shape with these targets for the next 4 years or so.

            - The combination to the club house should be changed.

NEW BUSINESS:

- Schedule of events:

            - Annual Meeting – Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 7:00pm at the Holiday Inn

            - Election of Officers – Positions of president and secretary are open   - Traditional Rendesvous – Steve Turay will be contacted re: a date for next year.

            - Open House – Jay Roy plans to spearhead an open house sometime immediately following the work bee.

            - Indoor League – There are three currently in place at Straightline.

            - Outdoor League – The new board should consider developing this league.

            - Next Executive Board Meeting: March 4, 2009,  7:00 @ PWPL

            - PWPL Donation – Tim made a motion to donate $100 worth of archery related books to the library as a thank you for the meeting place they have provided for us, second by Sue.  Motion carried unanimously.

- Adjournment  8:25 p.m.

            John made a motion to adjourn, second by Louie.  Motion passed unanimously.
